Alberto Pinto's Rio Apartment

Alberto Pinto's Rio Apartment

With an impressive portfolio having designed stunning mansions and corporate spaces in his lifetime, we take a look at the apartment of one of my favourite interior designers Alberto Pinto in Rio de Janeiro.

Alberto Pinto (1945–2012) was a photographer and interior designer based in Paris who designed the interiors of luxury apartments, corporations, hotels, yachts, and private jets. He was born in Casablanca to Argentine parents and was surrounded by diverse cultures throughout his life.

His luxurious pied-à-terre  in Rio de Janeiro in a duplex on the top two floors of a small building overlooking the Atlantic, is the perfect inspiration for lovers of art, architecture and interior design. It features Dupre-Lafon lamps covered in Hermes leather, art by Marcos Coelho Benjamin and a Romulus mirror.

Pinto has travelled a lot in his lifetime  and the design of the apartment showcases his cultural influences with its lush colors, rugged textures, and strong silhouettes.

The TV room features fabrics from India, while the living room area embodies a strong African influence. The vibrant mandarin and red colour from the interior in the living room work extremely well with the minimalistic style of the room.  The cheetah print cotton chairs by Robsjohn-Gibbings add a super chic, feminine touch to the dining room making it one of my favourite rooms in the house.

With a breathtaking view of Ipanema beach, Alberto Pinto has created a masterpiece in Rio De Janeiro. This house is filled with art, colour, high ceilings and a stunning view of the Atlantic ocean.

Here are Eva Sonaike, we too are inspired by vibrant colours and earthy textures and are admirers of Alberto Pinto’s work  especially as he explained:“A mix of cultures, it really sums me up.”
